
Leona Louise Lewis, born 3 April 1985 is an actor musician, activist, and singer who hails from Britain. Her birthplace was in the London Borough Of Islington she went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis received national recognition when she won the third season of The X Factor in 2006, winning a PS1 million recording contract together with Syco Music. The single she won, which was a cover the song of Kelly Clarkson "A Moment Like This", reached 50,000 downloads within 30 minutes. It also was ranked at the top of the charts for four weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5 album deal in February 2007. Lewis's popularity grew with the launch of her debut studio album, Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and became the fourth most-sold album of the decade and among the best-selling albums in UK chart time. According to the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the best-selling 21st century album of debut by a female artist. Its opening track "Bleeding Love" remains at the top of the UK chart for seven weeks and became one of the best-selling singles in 2007. It was also the most-sold single of 2008, as well. Lewis was awarded the Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. She released Echo in 2009 , and released "I I See You" for the film's title song. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" as a collaborative effort with Swedish DJ Avicii along with her first extended performance, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) was the third album of studio work. Lewis drew inspiration from electronic and dubstep music. The Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013, when she started recording material for her debut Christmas album. The album Christmas, With Love was released late in 2013. Its single lead, One More Sleep, peaked at number 3 within the UK. The chart's entry was what made Lewis one of the very first British woman solo artist in the top five, with eight singles. She also beat Olivia Newton-John's record of seven.
