Awkwafina started out as a American rapper and singer, performing sly tunes that dealt with issues such as racial and sexual identities with a funny twist. Before expanding to Hollywood, she had the opportunity to release a number of songs. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through trumpet.
